Episode 233: Mid-Year Reset?

At the beginning of the year, we may find ourselves being super motivated and determined to knock out our goals. The New Year brings in fresh hope and it’s an exciting time. We have our vision board parties, word for the year, scriptures, and just a host of business/personal aspirations and desires. But Sis, we know that things don’t always go as planned. So, that is why in this week's episode, I go over how and why you should do a mid-year reset. Why? Because it can improve your mood, boost your creativity, relieve stress, and allow you to hear God more clearly. We must reclaim our minds and position ourselves for mental clarity. We consume so much in our daily lives (family, social media, television, etc) that it is hard for us to hear God at times. So, how can we carry out a mid-year reset? Check out the 11 things from the episode listed below. Let’s shake ourselves off from unrealistic expectations and start fresh. At the end of the day, God's intended plan for us has not changed.

11 Things that can help you reset:

  • Start and end your day with quiet time.

  • Revisit the list of things that make you happy.

  • Go outside for a walk. (write some scriptures on index cards to reflect on God's word while you are enjoying nature).

  • Do a digital and information detox. (go off-line/social media, read a non-self-help book, etc.)

  • Clean your household and your workspace

  • Buy something sexy (for the married ladies only)

  • Practice being present

  • Go somewhere visually beautiful and mentally stimulating. (i.e. museum, botanical garden.)

  • Do a staycation (could be local)

  • Revisit your goals and also check in with yourself (how are you feeling? What’s working and what’s not working etc.)

  • Get some sleep sis!
