Episode 270: The Chemical That's Killing Your Consistency

In this episode, Tatum addresses the chemical that is killing your consistency which is dopamine. The term is defined "as a type of neurotransmitter. Your body makes it, and your nervous system uses it to send messages between nerve cells. That's why it's sometimes called a chemical messenger. Dopamine plays a role in how we feel pleasure. It's a big part of our uniquely human ability to think and plan." You may not have ever known this or thought of this before but it has a huge effect on how you may operate in your day-to-day tasks. Tatum feels that by addressing this chemical, we can find a way to address it and not let it control us. Dopamine is a feel-good chemical but it can cause you to crash and not pay attention to the fruit of the spirit. Read Galatians 5 to study and understand the fruit of the spirit which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Though dopamine is embedded in our flesh, it could be preventing us from truly seeing through what God is calling us to do, says Tatum. Listen to the episode using the link below!
