Episode 234: Rewire Your Mind

We have to be proactive about our mental wellness and that is what this episode was all about. “It's almost as if your brain has multiple personalities, some rational, some irrational, some reflective, some reactive. The key to thriving is to help these parts work well together. So to integrate them, integration takes the distinct parts of your brain and helps them work together as a whole.” Outside of having a mental health diagnosis or dealing with anxiety and depression; there are things we can do to rewire our brains. Sometimes all we need is a bit of quiet time but not where we are asking lots of questions; where we are just allowing God's presence to wash over us amid stillness. This is what God said to me “continue to win the battlefield of your mind because it is your greatest asset.” I was blown away by that revelation. Check out the replay of this week's episode to hear about my encounter with God and how I was able to rewire my brain. Take a look at some of the takeaways from the episode below.

Key Points:

  • Get quiet with God. Don’t submit any requests, just allow him to speak and you listen.

  • Don’t underestimate your testimony and the miraculous wonders God has done. Remember when you prayed for what you have now.

  • Read books that cater to your mind. The one I mentioned in this episode is “The Whole-Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind.”

  • Make moral and ethical decisions

  • Replace “influencers” with wise counsel (those who are hearers and doers of the word)

  • Build off of last week's episode “How and Why to do a Mid-Year Reset” (take the scripture cards and do some background research, find out the who, what, when, and why then apply it to your own life).

  • Renew your mind to soak up wisdom while you are creating experiences
